Preliminary Task
Evaluation
As it was our first time editing we ran into a quite of lot of issues.
For example:
My group experience many issues with the Apple Mac as we found it very hard to edit because we was not familiar with the controls and where they were located.
Communication was also an issue as it was our first time as it was an actual group everyone had their own initial ideas so when it came to editing there was a bit of arguments on what to do with the pictures and how they should be presented.
Also when we recorded different scenes which lead up to the high five it was really tedious as we never knew when we may have to shoot again until we sat down with each other and look at what was caught on camera. If a certain part was missed we would have to scrap it and record again which would make members of our group frustrated.
During this task we found that when following the 180 degree rule the camera must always be in the same place so that the audience is not confused. Furthermore, by placing the camera in a way where there is a lot of light we gather the most artistic shots.
Again, when recording, everyone had their own way in ding things so someones view may not correlate with another. For example, some people may disagree the angle which the scene was shot.
In order to add special effects and transitions to our images we used final cut pro. For example, in our first example of the plants we applied a black and white filter so that it suits a thriller film of a place which is cold and mysterious. This contrast with the original picture of the flower which contained bright colours of green and pink.
On our next attempt we tried to reverse the colour filter so that we would be left with a result of a disorientated look which would then fit the theme of a thriller/ crime film.
We experiment using a variety of filters and colours. For example, we used the standard black and white them which actually improved the previous picture. Furthermore, we then added on a motion transition which spins the picture o the previous picture.
Were also found out that by pressing motion transition which spins the picture around clockwise. Also we also added shape on top of the picture almost as a stencil so it shows the direction of spinning.
However our group then concluded that it was too much on one picture as it did not look good to fit our opening sequence. It looked to be too much going on therefore the audience will not know what to look at.
